Thiruvananthapuram: Former speaker P Sreeramakrishnan dismissed the allegations levelled by Swapna Suresh in an affidavit filed in the court. He said that he hadn't met the Gulf ruler or held meeting with him.
His remark came in reply to Swapna's claims that the former speaker sought her help and bribed the UAE consul general to arrange a meeting with the ruler.
"These allegations are all baseless and have no validity. The investigation agencies have probed the matter and collected my statement. They also filed a report on this. Not a single remark on these allegations was mentioned in it," he added.
He also dismissed allegations that the former speaker sought land for constructing a college in UAE. He remarked that he had no personal connection with the UAE consul general or the ruler.
In the affidavit filed in court before Swapna's confidential statement, it was alleged that P Sreeramakrishnan met the ruler of a Gulf country and held a meeting over acquiring land for constructing Middle East College.
