Palakkad: ADGP Vijay Sakhare said that four more accused have been nabbed in connection with the murder of RSS activist Sreenivasan here in Melamuri. Abdu Rahman, Firos, Rishil and Basith are the ones who were arrested on Tuesday. With this, the total number of arrests in the Sreenivasan murder case rose to 13.
Police said that Abdu Rahman and Firos were part of the gang that murdered Sreenivasan. Rishil and Basith were arrested for murder conspiracy. Police also said that the list of people they aimed to kill was prepared by Rishil.
Police had recovered one of the scooters used by the gang during evidence collection on Monday. The scooter was found from a rubber estate during the evidence collection with the Popular Front activist Iqbal, one of the six accused. Fayas, one of the key conspirators in the case was also arrested a couple of days back.
Meanwhile, the visuals of the car that brought tools for Sreenivasan’s murder have come out. The visuals show a red Suzuki Swift car with the registration number KL 55 D4700. The car can be seen passing alongside three bikes in front of the BJP office in Palakkad on April 16. The car is owned by Pattambi native K V Nasar.
