Thrissur: Actor Sreejith Ravi has been sent to 14 days of judicial custody by the Additional Sessions Court here in the case registered under POCSO Act.
Earlier, prosecution had objected to granting Sreejith bail. It informed the court that the accused had committed a similar offence on an earlier occasion as well.
Sreejith Ravi, who reportedly confessed to the crime, said that he is undergoing treatment for a mental illness and that he did the act because of his condition. The medical reports showing that he was undergoing treatment were presented before the court. However, the prosecution dismissed this by saying that the reports were issued on the current date and that they should not be considered.
Thrissur West Police arrested Sreejith Ravi on Thursday for exhibiting nudity before two minor girls near SN park in Thrissur. The case was registered based on the complaint filed by the family of the children over indecent exposure.
