Thiruvananthapuram: Senior CPM leader and Administrative Reforms Commission Chairman V S Achuthanandan said Sunday that those who are afraid of opening the ‘B Vault’ at Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple should be suspected.
Some of the Royal family members are talking as if they have sought an opinion directly from God, he said in a statement.
There are no records in the history that says the Will of God was sought while opening the B Vault. “Therefore, we can say the issue is not God’s Will but the will of some individuals,” he added.
VS also noted that the High Court has made it clear that the Royal family cannot stake claim on the administrative powers of temple as there is no ‘King’ after the independence. The current administrative committee does not include any members of the Royal family, he added.
Therefore, the B vault should be opened as per the directives of the Supreme Court, VS said.
Earlier, the Royals had said they will not give their consent to open the vault.
The opening of B vault is against the wishes of the deity. The chief priests of the temple are also against this," Senior member of the erstwhile royal family, Aswathi Thirunal Gouri Lakshmi Bayi, had said.
The royal family does not agree with the findings of the former Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) Vinod Rai that Vault B was opened seven times earlier.
A small chamber, which is located in the front of Vault B, was opened earlier. This anti-chamber is being mistaken for Vault B, the royal family insisted.
