“The contract was signed during extraordinary circumstances. The party is ready to check all matters necessary with the deal once normalcy returns,” the CPM Kerala state secretary said.

Thiruvananthapuram: CPM Kerala state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on Thursday said that CPM is completely in support of the Sprinklr deal.

“The contract was signed during extraordinary circumstances. The party is ready to check all matters necessary with the deal once normalcy returns,” Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said in a press conference.

Upon receiving reports that coronavirus would affect lakhs of people, it was evaluated that technologies and facilities available with the IT department is not sufficient. Following this, the offer for six-months free service was accepted. Once normalcy returns, the CPM is ready to examine the decision, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan clarified.

Both the CPI and CPM have the same stance regarding data leak. The other day, I had a detailed discussion with CPI Kerala state general secretary Kanam Rajendran regarding the matter. More such discussions will be held if there are differences in opinion between the two parties, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan added.
