Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala department of co-operation has appointed a special team for investigating the Pulpally bank fraud case. Rajendran Nair, a farmer, killed himself earlier this week, after he was served a notice from the bank over repayment of a ‘fake loan’ issued in his name.

Deputy Registrar T Ayyapan Nair at the department of co-operation has been appointed the head of the investigation team. Assistant registrars Arun V Sajikumar, R Rajaram, P Jyothish Kumar, and M Babeesh are the other members of the investigation team.

An order has been issued in this regard by the registrar following instructions from V N Vasavan, Minister of Co-operation. Several lapses have been identified in the bank’s governing body, which is led by UDF members.
