Special team to investigate Malappuram blast
Thiruvananthapuram: A special investigation team (SIT) will probe Tuesday’s blast on Malappuram Collectorate premises, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said.
The SIT will be headed by Narcotic DySP PT Balan, the Chief Minister said in reply to a notice for adjournment motion tabled by the opposition.
Following his reply, the Speaker rejected permission for adjournment motion served by P Ubaidulla MLA. Opposition noted that the blast has spread anxiety among the public and such acts should be nipped in the bud. He said groups like ‘Base Movement’ should be probed and rooted out completely.

Meanwhile, BJP legislator O Rajagopal walked out of the House alleging that the government is not viewing the matter with due seriousness.
CM told the Assembly that the pen drive which was found along with a pamphlet in the box recovered from the blast site is being examined. He said no forces can destroy the religious and communal harmony prevailing in the state.
Meanwhile, the NIA team, led by DySP Abdul Khader, reached Malappuram on Wednesday and is examining the pamphlet found on the blast site and the pen drive that was also recovered along with the note. Thrissur Range IG M R Ajith Kumar also reached Malappuram.
