Thiruvannathapuram: The cabinet has decided to give Onam kits to all ration card holders in the state for the festival. The cabinet also decided to provide insurance cover of Rs 7.5 lakh to all ration dealers.
As many as 40 ration shop dealers lost their lives during the Covid pandemic times. The insurance cover was decided as these dealers are regularly interacting with the common public.
The Cabinet also decided to provide solatium of Rs 20 lakh to the family of Arshad who died due to snakebite at the Thiruvananthapuram Zoo. Out of this, Rs 10 lakh would go for completing the construction of house. The government also decided to offer job to the dependents and take up the education of the children.
