Aranmula: BJP Kerala state president K Surendran stated that Speaker P Sreeramakrishnan is misusing the Legislative Assembly in the name of his relationship with Swapna Suresh.
“He is misusing the Assembly for protecting political interests. Sreeramakrishnan also has a personal interest in it as he is really close to the gold smuggling case accused Swapna Suresh. The details of his phone calls with Swapna have emerged. Misusing the Assembly for such things weakens our democratic set up,” K Surendran said while speaking to the media at Aranmula.
The BJP leader also said that it looks as if the Assembly is making unnecessary interventions into the powers of the executive. No right of the Legislative Assembly has been violated here. And yet, its decision to summon ED officials for questioning is misuse of power. They have no right to do that, Surendran added.
