Southwest Monsoon to abate in state; Yellow alert sounded for Kasaragod, Kannur
Kozhikode: There would be no extremely heavy rains in the state in coming days, India Meteorological Department has forecasted. The torrential downpour has reduced its strength, according to IMD report.
However, Yellow Alert has been sounded in Kasaragod and Kannur for two days July 24 and July 25 while Yellow Alert is also sounded for Kozhikode district on July 24 and in Kasaragod on July 26.
All other districts will receive light to moderate rainfall in the coming days.

Meanwhile, the Kerala State Disaster Management Authority has issued a warning of sea surge. Fishermen have been asked not to venture into the sea as winds will blow with speed 40 kmph to 50 kmph.
