Kozhikode: Southern railway has reduced the platform ticket rate to Rs 10.

When the distribution of platform tickets resumed after Covid-induced lockdown, the ticket fare was fixed at Rs 50. The high rate had been introduced to reduce rush in railway stations.

Protests were raised from travellers and the Malabar Rail Users Forum officers against the hefty charges of the platform tickets.
