Some sections targeting Malappuram, disturbing Kerala's secular base: Kodiyeri Balakrishnan
Thiruvananthapuram: CPM State General Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said that certain sections are trying to create communal polarisation in connection with the death of an elephant at Amballapara. Kodiyeri alleged that RSS is trying to destroy the secular base of Kerala and create communal tension, just like it is happening in USA.
He said that the incident on the killing of an elephant has saddened Kerala and it was big talking point in the state. This incident should not have happened. However, certain sections are creating a platform for communal tension using this incident.
“The incident happened in Palakkad. But both the Union minister and environment minister tweeted that it took place in Malappuram. This was intended to target a specific religious group. Menaka Gandhi is always on the forefront when it comes to communal polarisation,” Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said.
The Politburo member from Kerala said that targeting Malappuram district and propagating the district a center for a particular religious community are done to destroy the secular base of Kerala. The people who are involved in this should refrain from spewing communal venom.
