Somanachari treks Sabarimala with 806 'Nei Mudras' in his Irumudikettu
Ettumanoor: Somanachari trekked the Sabarimala hills this year with 806 'Nei Mudras' (coconuts filled with ghee). He left for Sabarimala darshan after packing the irumudikettu with 806 mudras from Neendoor Thrikkayil Subramanya Swamy temple.
The ‘Nei Mudra’ was filled by Monce Joseph MLA. Former Chief Priest of Sabarimala Shankaran Namboodiri also took part in the event. Somanachari in his first visit to Sabarimala trekked with 106 ‘nei mudras’. In the following years, he trekked with 206, 306, 406, 506, 606 ‘Nei Mudras’, adding 100 mudras each year. Last year he trekked with 706 mudras. This is his eighth year now.
Somanachari, who is a devotee of Neendoor Subramanian, has added the number six in his ‘Nei Mudras’, which is the number of lord Murugan. A goldsmith by profession, Somanachari is also an efficient snake charmer. He has bagged many awards for capturing several dangerous snakes.
