Thiruvananthapuram: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday approached the Chief Judicial Magistrate here in connection with a sexual assault case filed by the key accused in the ‘solar scam’ case, against Congress MLA AP Anil Kumar, and said that there is no evidence to prove the charges.

A year ago, CBI filed an FIR against five Congress leaders- former chief minister Oommen Chandy, MPs KC Venugopal, Hibi Eden, Adoor Prakash and MLA AP Anil Kumar, based on the statement filed by the complainant.

CBI has already given a clean chit to Hibi Eden and Adoor Prakash in the case.

The complaint was filed in 2018 with the Kerala Police. It was at the request of the complainant that the government handed over the case to the central agency.
