Solar scam rape case: CBI interrogates KC Venugopal

New Delhi: A team of the Central Bureau of Investigation has questioned Congress leader KC Venugopal over the solar scam sexual abuse case. The Congress leader appeared before the CBI here on Tuesday.

As per the complaint received by CBI, the incident related to the case took place in May 2012. According to the complainant woman, Venugopal sexually abused her at the residence of the then tourism minister AP Anil Kumar.

Earlier, Crime Branch was in charge of the probe into the case. But the last LDF government handed over the case to CBI.

CBI has been probing the case for the last 8 months.

CBI had interrogated Venugopal thrice over the complaint of the woman. Later, the complainant handed over some digital evidence to CBI. Based on this, CBI summoned the Congress leader for another interrogation.
