Solar Scam: HC to consider Oommen Chandy’s plea today
Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala High Court will consider today former minister Oommen Chandy’s petition to quash Justice (retd) G. Sivarajan's judicial probe report on the solar scam, submitted to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan earlier this year. He had moved the petition in High Court on Monday.
It is reported that BJP leader K Surendran will join as party in the petition filed by Oommen Chandy. His advocate will submit the application in court for this purpose.
Though Oommen Chandy filed the petition on Monday, the single bench refused to consider it. Justice Jayan Shankar Nambiar will consider the case today afternoon.
According to reports, Kapil Sibal, senior advocate of Supreme Court, will appear for Oommen Chandy in the court.
The former chief minister in his petition demanded that the statements against him should be removed from the solar commission report.
The government is also observing the petition as a crucial one. Mukul Rohatgi will appear on behalf of the state government today at the High Court while considering Oommen Chandy’s petition.
According to reports, more Congress leaders, who are allegedly involved in the case, will approach the High Court if the court pronounces its verdict in favour of Oommen Chandy.
