Solar report: Cong trapped by previous UDF govt’s decision
Thiruvananthapuram: Sources revealed that the previous UDF government had given the terms of reference for a judicial inquiry into the solar scam. It has been revealed that Solar commission investigated all the terms except Sarita’s letter which was disclosed recently.
The terms of reference for the solar commision was prepared in consultation with the former government representatives.
The government decided to probe the allegations of the solar scam that was raised inside and outside the assembly. The commission approved the terms after hearing the government officials and issued an order on November 7, 2014.
The role of Chief Minister and his office in the Solar scam, relationship with Sarita and Biju Radhakrishnan, complaint on the appointment of probe team to subvert the investigation, allegation against Chief Minister for helping home minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan and Sarita’s relationship with the ministers, MLAs, and MPs were the subjects for investigation under the Solar commission.
It has been revealed that findings of solar commissions except Saritha’s letter were probed in the initial phase itself. Neither the then chief minister and accused have not questioned the inquiry.
