Thiruvananthapuram: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken up the probe into the sensational solar rape case.
CBI has taken up six cases in which many Congress and BJP leaders are accused. Oommen Chandy, KC Venugopal, AP Anil Kumar, Hibi Eden, Adoor Prakash and AP Abdullakutty, National Vice -President of BJP, are in the accused list. The CBI has filed an FIR against them in the court.
Crime branch had already probed the case based on the charges levelled against the accused by a woman on sexual misconduct and corruption.
Later, the state government recommended a CBI probe into it. The Crime Branch had earlier filed an FIR against the accused. However, there was no evidence against Oommen Chandy, report said.
