Solar case: Chandy says close associate blackmailed him
Thiruvananthapuram: In a startling revelation during the press meet convened to express his response on solar judicial commission report, former chief minister and Congress leader Oommen Chandy said he was blackmailed by a close associate.
“So many persons tried to intimidate me in connection with the case. However, I never paid them attention and told them that I would face the allegations. However, a close confidant could blackmail me and I regret it now. I will make more disclosures later,” he said.
Though media persons asked him repeatedly, Chandy declined to reveal the name.
“Regarding the sexual assault allegations in the case, I never thought somebody could lie. But I was proved wrong. During the sitting of commission, nobody submitted any fresh evidence,” he said citing the sexual assault charge levelled by Saritha.
“Kodiyeri said he has some evidence in possession. He never handed it over despite the commission demanding it,” Chandy added.
