Land at Kinalur acquired for the project
Balussery: In a crucial step towards realising Kerala’s dream, the Social Impact Assessment (SIA) of land acquisition for the proposed All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Kozhikode’s Kinalur has been released.
The project requires around 200 acres of land. The state-run Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) had handed over 153.46 acre to the health department for the project. About 40.68 acres of private land need to be acquired from Kinalur and Kanthalad villages. The land acquisition may affect 175 families and their dependents.
SIA readied by Don Bosco Arts & Science College, Iritty, Kannur pointed out that giving adequate compensation and offering proper rehabilitation is the way out.
The report added that the project will turn beneficial for the government and public.
Meanwhile, the public consultation on SIA has been slated for October 29. The locals in the affected villages maintained that they will respond to the development after going through the report in a detailed manner.
