Thiruvananthapuram: BJP leader Sobha Surendran said that she will contest from Kazhakkoottam and the present circumstances does not allow her seek any other constituency. She has expressed her willingness to contest on the direction of the central leadership. She told Mathrubhumi News that she is firm to contest from Kazhakkoottam even as the party is set to announce the candidates for the remaining 3 seats.
Sobha stated that wherever she has contested, it is usual that the vote share has only doubled. She will definitely taste victory from Kazhakkoottam, Sobha affirmed. A very able BJP leader, who leads all party activities across the country, had requested her to enter the fray and I will welcome that. Sobha added that she is mentally prepared to contest elections.
The party is now reformed. A decision has been taken on the remaining 2 seats. The names will be announced soon. The BJP or the NDA is not in a situation where there is dearth of candidates, she said.
BJP state president K Surendran said the other day that Sobha Surendran will contest the elections but did not mention anything about the constituency. The BJP is also mulling to field union minister V Muraleedharan from Kazhakkoottam. The BJP is yet to release the candidate list for Karunagapally, Kollam besides Kazhakkoottam.
