Soaring temperature hints beginning of El Nino, claims experts
Thiruvananthapuram: The weather experts claimed that Kerala is having warmer temperature due to the commencement of a phenomenon called El Nino in the south-east side of Pacific Ocean. It is estimated that El Nino will make crucial impact on weather in all continents. Its consequences will be revealed during the period between August and September.
In Kerala, the maximum temperature level rose to above 50 degree Celsius. Because of this, many people suffered sunburns, said officials.
Though there is a steep rise in temperature as expected in March, IMD reported that there is no chance for summer rain. Hence, the state will have warmer temperature in the coming days.
India Meteorological Department warned that if Kerala does not receive summer rain in April, the state will struggle in the grip of strong heat wave and extreme drought.
