Soaring mercury: CM calls emergency meeting
Thiruvananthapuram: Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan has called an emergency meeting to discuss the intensifying heat and drought in the state. Ministers and top officials will attend the meet to be held on Wednesday at 3 pm.
The meeting will discuss providing immediate help to the people who died of sunstroke. The concerned departments have been instructed to check the criteria for providing help.
4 people died in the state due to sunstroke in the past few days. Around 50 people suffered sunburns yesterday. The problem of drinking water scarcity has also become severe. The weather department has warned against increasing temperature in the coming days. A warning was issued till Thursday in the state considering the chance of soaring temperature.
