Thiruvananthapuram: CPM leader and Thalassery MLA AN Shamseer said that smugglers and quotation gangs are using the party as shield to cover them. However, the party aims to remove them from the way and go forward, he told Mathrubhumi News.
The rumours that the party gets a share of the smuggling is wrong. The party does not want share of black money. The CPM is functioning with the money received as levy from the party members and the fund raised from the public. The party is not in a pathetic state to get a share from smugglers, Shamseer said.
It is true that the smugglers and quotation gangs are using the party as a shield but we will put an end to this and deal with it strictly. Investigation is carried out by high level officers. The party has decided to cut the roots of such gangs no matter how deep they have grown, Shamseer made it clear.
The media has a great role in giving prominence to Kodi Suni and Muhammed Shafi. CPM has no connection with such people. They are in jail in connection with murder cases. Police and Customs are involved in gold smuggling. If CPM workers are involved, the party will take strict action against them, he added.
