Sleaze talk: Case booked against A K Saseendran
Thiruvananthapuram: The CJM court booked a suo motu case against former minister A K Saseendran against whom allegations of sexual misconduct surfaced. The court booked case under a non-bailable section and sent a notice to Saseendran.
In a huge embarrassment to the CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front government, AK Saseendran of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) resigned after allegations of misconduct with a woman surfaced against him.
The Crime branch hi-tech cell probe against the Channel head and its employees are still going on.
In the midst of this, a lady staff of the channel approached the court with a complaint. She had stated that the former minister had telephoned her and spoken in a sexually explicit way. She also said that the minister had insulted her. The complainant had given statements of 3 witnesses in the case. Following the complaint, the CJM court decided to book suo motu case against A K Saseendran.
Saseendran may have to appear personally before the court and give his statement. The channel will have to also submit the unedited version of the tape on the allegations of misconduct.
