Thiruvananthapuram: According to latest reports, M Sivasankar, the sacked principal secretary of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, had intervened in the Life Mission project in Wadakkanchery. As per the agreement during CM’s UAE visit, Red Crescent representatives have expressed willingness to fund the housing project. A UAE royal family member will arrive here to sign the deal. Hence the draft agreement submitted with this note should be reverted within a day after inspection by Law Department, the note had said.

Following this, Additional Chief Secretary to the Department of Local Self Government directly handed over the draft agreement to Law Department Secretary without sending it through concerned sections.

Law Secretary reverted the draft agreement for associating with a foreign organistaion on the same day by 3 pm after examining it. He had noted in the file that a diplomatic decision should be taken before signing the agreement.

Additional Chief Secretary to the Department of Local Self Government handed over the file on the same day to Sivasankar. Following this the agreement was signed.

The Department of Local Self Government confirmed that the procedures for agreement started with Sivasankar’s involvement. However, it is suspected that changes were made to the agreement after Law Department approved it.
