Sivasankar files anticipatory bail plea in HC, requests to consider it on Monday itself
Kochi: Former IT Secretary M Sivasankar has approached the High Court seeking anticipatory bail fearing arrest from customs department in the gold smuggling case.
The IAS officer has moved the bail plea online and requested the High Court to consider it urgently on Monday itself.
On Monday, Sivasankar’s lawyer will seek the court’s attention on the anticipatory bail plea when the court starts considering cases at 10.15 am. Following this, the court is expected to take a decision on the plea.
Meanwhile, the customs will oppose Sivasankar’s anticipatory bail plea in the HC. It is learned that the customs officials will inform the court that the IAS officer is not cooperating with the investigation and that he was not responding to many questions.
