Sivasankar complains of custodial torture; quizzing went on till 1 am
Kochi: M Sivasankar who was arrested over money laundering case related to gold smuggling complained of custodial torture against Enforcement Directorate. He revealed the matter before the Ernakulam Principal Sessions Court judge here on Thursday.
“I was grilled till 1 am. The officials woke me up in the wee hours of Thursday for further questioning. I am having health issues. The officials did not allow me to complete my Ayurvedic treatment,” said Sivasankar before the court.
The IAS officer was produced before the court around 10.30 am on Thursday after ED recorded his arrest over money laundering case. He was taken to the court after a medical check-up including COVID test.
According to reports, Sivasankar did not eat anything after ED took him into custody. It is learned that he refused to have food even after the officials requested him.
On Wednesday night around 11, Sivasankar had undergone a medical check-up at Ernakulam general hospital. The doctors expressed satisfaction over his health condition during the check-up.
