SilverLine Project: Kerala govt halts survey procedures

Kochi: The state government has halted the Social Impact Assessment which initiated to implement K-Rail’s SilverLine project. The government officially informed the matter in its affidavit submitted before the High Court here on Friday.

The state authority also informed that the survey will be continued only if a new notification is issued.

The state government’s intimation happened while the court was considering pleas challenging the survey and laying of stones ,marked 'K-Rail'.

The single bench of the court took note of the intimation that the notification got expired. The court also recorded the affirmation of the Union government that it has neither assented to the Detailed Project Report nor granted approval for the survey.

The court postponed the hearing of the pleas to August 28.
