K-Rail project: Kodiyeri belittles objection from Congress, mocks KPCC chief

Kannur: Day after KPCC chief K Sudhakaran stated that Congress will intensify protest against contentious SilverLine project spearheaded by K-Rail, CPM state secretary and former home minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan belittled the former’s remarks and referred Congress in Kerala do not have vigour to oppose the state government.

“Congress is just bragging,” Kodiyeri said. According to him, Congress in Kerala do not have the vigour to fight and it is the only entity which oppose SilverLine project.

“Majority of people in Kerala have taken favourable stance to the project and they will isolate Congress activists who oppose this,” he said.

Notably his remarks come as a rebuttal to KPCC chief who earlier said the Congress will intensify the protest against SilverLine project and they will forcefully remove the survey stones laid for the social impact assessment of the project in spite of contrary court order.

KPCC chief remarked that CM is going ahead with the project with no commitment to the people and “if Pinarayi Vijayan continues his arrogance, then the Congress will go ahead with battle like protest”.

Kodiyeri taking a dig at KPCC chief’s remarks said that removing one survey stone will not stop the K-Rail’s project.
