Kochi: The Kerala High Court dismissed two pleas against the SilverLine project spearheaded by K-Rail. The pleas have been rejected by Justice N. Nagaresh.
The pleas batted that the SilverLine project is a special railway project and land acquisition and project implementation cannot be carried out without the notification of the Union government.
However, the court approved that the state government can carry out land acquisition and project implementation, as it is only a normal railway project.
Meanwhile, it is important to note that if the project is listed among Railways’ special projects, then a Union government has to issue a notification.
