Kottayam: Railway Board and K-Rail authorities continue to lock horns over the land acquisitions concerning SilverLine project in Kerala. The Railway board claimed that K-Rail is yet to submit details regarding the use of lands owned by the railway for the SilverLine project. However, K-Rail authorities argued that they had submitted a report before the division office after completing a combined survey with railway authorities.
In reply to RTI application, Railway claimed that K-Rail is yet to submit the information regarding the same despite multiple requests from the board.
Initially, K-Rail filed a report detailing rail crossings, sharing of existing stations, use of railway land and others. However, the board cited lack of clarity and requested a detailed report.
K-Rail is of the view that the report filed before the division bench must have faced a bureaucratic hurdle and is yet to reach the railway board. As per the request of the Railway Board, they conducted a combined survey with officials from Thiruvananthapuram and Palakkad divisions.
