Kottayam: Former minister and MLA Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan on Wednesday accused that the initial alignment of the SilverLine rail was altered to avoid the house of minister Saji Cheriyan.

The first plan was to run the train through the eastern side of the Mulakkuzha panchayat office. It has now been shifted to the western side. More details will be revealed if the minister speaks again (in support of the project), Radhakrishnan said.

Minister had claimed the alignment was not changed. I am talking about Mulakkuzha panchayat. It is a familiar place for him. I did not want to talk about it. But he made me do it, the Kottayam MLA said.

Meanwhile, minister Saji Cheriyan denied the allegation and said that he is happy to vacate his house.

I do not get a say in deciding the alignment. Let it come out. I am happy to hand over the house if the rail line is passing through it. I have already said that my house will be given to a palliative care unit after my death. Why do I have to be worried about the SilveLine project, the minister asked.
