SI suspended for firing incident in Cliff House


Reportedly, sub inspector Hashim Rahman was suspended on the basis of an investigation report by the battalion Deputy Inspector General (DIG).

Thiruvananthapuram: A sub-inspector has been suspended in connection with the accidental firing in Cliff House, chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s official residence.

SI Hashim Rahman has been suspended on the basis of an investigation report by the battalion Deputy Inspector General (DIG).

The incident occurred at around 9.30 am on Tuesday after the service weapon of a security officer, posted on guard duty, went off accidentally after the chief minister left Cliff House to attend the assembly session.

The police explained that the gun was accidentally fired while the security guard was cleaning the weapon at the outpost. No one was injured in the incident.
