Drunk cop creates mess at Kozhikode restaurant, arrested

Kozhikode: Thottilpalam police on Thursday night arrested a police officer for creating a mess at a restaurant in Kozhikode. The accused has been identified as sub-inspector Anil Kumar of New Mahe police station. He was later released on bail.

The officer, who was coming from Wayanad, entered a restaurant in Thottipalam to have food. He was reportedly drunk and the person got into an argument over the bill. It escalated into a mess and police arrived.

The person at first was reluctant to go along with the police. But they arrested the person and took him to the station. He was later released on bail.

“He (Anil Kumar) was booked for creating a mess at the restaurant. The officer was not on duty at the time,” an official noted.
