Shyamala defaulted in Anthoor issue, says P Jayarajan
Kannur: In connection with the suicide of an expat industrialist in Anthoor, CPM Kannur district secretary P. Jayarajan made it clear that he would not change his stand even if the party corrected him.
It was a lapse from the part of the municipality in the issue of granting license to the convention centre of Sajan Parayil. It should be accepted. Party matters and the responsibility of local bodies are different things. P. K. Shyamala is responsible as the municipality chairperson. It was a lapse from her part and she should accept the same, Jayarajan said.
"I am not a people’s representative. But I inquired about the delay in granting license to Sajan’s convention centre as the district secretary of CPM. When they replied that the building rules was violated, I suggested them to regularize it and to conduct a joint inspection. But the procedures were delayed even after this and Sajan became desperate. This led to his death," Jayarajan further said.
He also said that the party is not irritated with his interventions because he acts as a party worker. "With the strong stand taken against the enemies, good response is received from the party workers. If I leave the party, would I get this recognition," he asked.
According to the party policy, no party worker can be sidelined. It is the right wing’s demand to sideline me. The party need not be irked with my popularity, Jayarajan clarified in an interview given to a weekly.
