Shuhaib murder: No CBI probe for now – SC
New Delhi: The Supreme Court remarked that the political murderers are fools, with regard to the murder of Youth Congress worker Shuhaib in Kannur. The court said in this regard while considering the plea filed by Shuhaib’s father C. Muhammed, requesting to remove the High Court’s stay on the CBI probe into the case. The apex court commented on political murders after seeing the pictures of Shuhaib’s dead body.
The court also made it clear that the police can continue investigation into Shuhaib’s case and that the investigation team can submit the final report. The court also issued a notice to the government on the plea filed by C. Muhammed. The plea will be examined thoroughly. A detailed hearing is needed on the plea demanding CBI probe, the court said. The plea will be considered in July.
Shuhaib’s father approached the court alleging that the police investigation is inefficient. He also requested that the case should be immediately handed over to CBI, before the evidences are destroyed. The High Court single bench had ordered for a CBI probe into the case earlier. But the division bench stayed this order following an appeal filed by the government. Also the case was postponed to consider after summer vacation. The family approached the apex court, because such a long delay can adversely affect the investigation.
