Shuhaib murder: CPM has nothing to hide, says P Jayarajan
Kannur: CPM Kannur district secretary P Jayarajan said Wednesday that the CPM does not have anything to hide over the murder of Youth Congress activist Shuhaib at Edayannur near Mattannur.
Rightist political organizations and the media that supports them should not think that they can frighten CPM through the CBI probe, Jayarajan said.
" The CPM welcomes the High Court order asking the CBI to probe Shuhaib murder. After the murder happened on February 12, the CPM immediately condemned the murder and clarified that the party does not have a role in it. The party stand is that a probe should be conducted to reveal real culprits behind the murder and appropriate action should be taken against them. The Kerala police have been conducting a truthful investigation in the case. The Congress too had accepted this fact. The probe by Kerala Police was going in the right direction. However, the Congress alleged that the police nabbed 'dummy accused.' However, the Congress had to admit that later that the police investigation was in the right direction after the witnesses identified the accused. There have been several attempts to suppress the CPM earlier. The Congress has joined with the Sangh Parivar forces who are trying to wipe off communism from the country," Jayarajan said.
