Kozhikode: Police charged case against five persons including Kerala Vyaparai Vyvasayi Ekopana Samithi (KVVES) state president T Nasarudheen for attempting to open shop in SM Street violating lockdown norms. The incident took place on Saturday at 9.45 am.
Though the collector had granted permission to open shops including small scale textile showrooms in the district, the shops in SM street were not allowed to open as people usually arrive in large groups there. Only shops selling essential items were allowed to open in SM Street. However, Nasarudheen and his aides arrived at SM Street in the morning announcing he would open his shop violating lockdown norms.
But police arrived from town station and made them shut his shop named Beauty Store. Nasarudheen arrived at SM Street claiming that he has no money and cannot survive without opening the shop. No other merchants came and tried to open their shops. As the police were already informed of the incident, a team of police officers headed by Town CI Umesh were present at the place.
