Kannur: Writer T Padmanabhan opined that the incident in which Women’s Commission chairperson M C Josephine insulted an 87-year-old woman was a brutal act.
Josephine behaves without showing any kindness and compassion. Why was she appointed with a high salary and car, the writer asked.
T Padmanabhan asked this to CPM leader P Jayarajan during a party door-to-door visit programme ahead of the Assembly election. P Jayarajan and other party leaders were visiting the households in the area where T Padmanabhan resides.
"Josephine used words that were not appropriate to be used by a person holding such a position. Her language was brutal. She shows no mercy in her words or behaviour. I say this not as an opponent but as a well-wisher," Padmanabhan told Jayarajan.
P Jayarajan assured T Padmanabhan that his criticism will be brought to the attention of party leadership and Josephine. However, the writer said that that won’t be necessary and added that such remarks would tarnish the image of the government even when they do welfare activities.
