Kozhikode: KPCC president K Sudhakaran discarded allegations that Congress leadership in the state avoided Shashi Tharoor from attending a seminar organised under the Kozhikode district committee of Youth Congress. Through a Facebook post, he urged the Congress activists to neglect the fake campaigns raised by political rivals.

Though the Youth Congress had initially organised the seminar on ‘Sangh Parivar and Challenges of Secularism’ by inviting Shashi Tharoor as a speaker, the youth wing later stepped back from the event. Meanwhile, a pro-Congress organisation, Jawahar Foundation, will conduct the seminar.

Sudhakaran said that the KPCC would not attempt to ban the Youth Congress as the latter has never refrained from correcting its parental organisation and expressing its agitations so far. He also added that Shashi Tharoor is an eminent leader of the party and KPCC has been pleased to include him in any political programmes of the state.
