Shashi Tharoor inaugurates 'Federal Bank Speak for India' in Thiruvananthapuram


Thiruvananthapuram: MP Shashi Tharoor on Monday inaugurated the seventh edition of ‘Federal Bank Speak for India Kerala Edition’, India’s biggest debate competition held in association with Mathrubhumi.

The inaugural event was held at Marar Ivanios College in Thiruvananthapuram. The programme kicked off with the debate was between Tharoor and Tirunelveli District Collector S Gokul.

‘Speak for India’ provides a platform for college students to raise their opinions on relevant contemporary topics. The programme has been scheduled as a Corporate Social Responsibility project of the Federal Bank Hormis Memorial Foundation.

The competition will take place at five levels and Rs 2.5 lakh will be awarded to the winners along with other gifts. The second prize winner will get a cash award of Rs 1.5 lakh. All participants selected for the finals will receive a cash prize of Rs 35,000.
