Greeshma, Rural SP D Shilpa
Thiruvananthapuram: Crime Branch officials suspect that the suicide attempt of accused Greeshma in the murder of Parassala native Sharon Raj was a drama staged to avoid interrogation. Meanwhile, rural SP D Shilpa informed that accused Greeshma is out of danger.
“She told police that she had consumed the disinfectant kept in the toilet. Immediately, she was rushed to a hospital and given medicine to induce vomiting. Her health condition is satisfactory now,” rural SP told media.
Greeshma is currently under observation in the Intensive Care Unit at Govt Medical Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram.
Immediate action would be taken against the woman cops who took the accused to a washroom which was not meant for her use. The police had assigned a washroom for Greeshma after thorough inspection, said SP Shilpa. The police officers were directed to take Greeshma to a particular toilet after a thorough examination of her body. Four cops were deployed to ensure this without fail. However, the women police officers failed to implement the orders, observed the SP.
On Sunday, Greeshma had confessed to the Crime Branch that she had mixed poison in an Ayurvedic concoction and offered it to her boyfriend Sharon Raj, to end her relationship with him.
