Thiruvananthapuram: A court in Neyyattinkara on Friday sent Greeshma, the prime accused in the murder of Sharon Raj, to police custody for seven days. The court also directed investigators to videotape the evidence collection process. Other accused in the case, Greeshma's mother Sindhu and uncle Nirmal Kumar were also sent to police custody.
Meanwhile, the defendants claimed that the FIR registered by Parassala police does not mention Sharon drinking any poison.
Greeshma (22) was detained for allegedly serving an ayurvedic decoction laced with pesticide to Sharon Raj, a native of Parassala, as her marriage was fixed with another man. Later, Greeshma reportedly confessed to the police that she poisoned Sharon. Additionally, she said that she planned the crime alone. However, the police were wary of her statement and decided to probe the role played by her relatives.
