Thiruvananthapuram: Reacting to sharing of stage with BJP to oppose the protest against Vizhinjam port construction, CPM state secretary MV Govindan said that the party has been ready to ideologically stand together on matters of public interest. However, he added that the party cannot agree with the BJP on everything.

Talking at a press conference, he said that the government has taken affirmative action in every matter except for the demand to stop the construction.

Meanwhile, Govindan alleged that the opposition was supporting the agenda of the BJP by backing the governor. The KPCC president, Leader of Opposition and former LoP reacted the same way, he said.

Govindan, however, added that the Muslim League and RSP have a different position on the fight matters with governor. He further said that within the Congress, P Chidambaram, KC Venugopal and K Muraleedharan also have a different opinion.
