Shanu, who abducted Kevin, is a former Youth Congress activist, alleges DYFI
Kottayam: The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) has expelled two of its activists suspected to be involved in the abduction and alleged murder of a newly married man in Kottayam.
In a press release, the DYFI informed that the propaganda being unleashed to defame DYFI in connection with the incident is politically motivated and baseless.
The DYFI also alleged that the key accused in the case Shanu Chacko, the brother of the bride, is a former leader of the Youth Congress.
DYFI activist Niyas participated in the act as he was a relative of the bride. As soon as the organization got information about the incident, it cancelled the primary membership of the two. Another relatives Ishan has also been expelled from the organization, the DYFI release said.
The bride's father Chacko is a Congress sympathiser. The family of the bride's mother Rahna are also well known Congress sympathisers, the release said.
The DYFI alleged that the sole reason for raising a politically motivated allegation against the organization over the deplorable deed committed by relatives and friends is due to the hatred towards DYFI.
The incident is deplorable and an insult to the culture of Kerala. Stern action should be taken against the culprits. The police officials who commited lapses should be punished, DYFI demanded.
