Swapna Suresh, Shaj Kiran
Kochi: It is widely speculated that Shaj Kiran, a close aid of Swapna Suresh, had left for Tamil Nadu to destroy key shreds of evidence in his phone. Earlier, Shaj Kiran travelled to Tamil Nadu after stating that the phone recordings released by Swapna were edited.
He said he would soon return to Kerala and release a crucial video file concerning the case. The opposition parties ridiculed the police for remaining silent despite the prime accused levelling serious allegations against Shaj Kiran.
It is suspected that the evidence on the phone might link senior political leaders to the case. Meanwhile, Shaji Kiran and Ibrahim approached High Court seeking anticipatory bail. It is learned that they are likely to be arrested in a case filed by the Cantonment Police. In the petition filed in the court, they alleged that Swapna released the audio clips as part of the conspiracy to trap them. The high court will consider their petition on Tuesday.
