Adoor: Youth Congress state president Shafi Parambil was criticised during an education camp organised by the Youth Congress in Adoor. The criticism was made during a debate on the motion at the camp organised by the Youth Congress Pathanamthitta unit.

The criticism was that when protests were going on in Thiruvananthapuram against the illegal appointments at the corporation, Shafi was in Qatar for the FIFA World Cup, along with the Youth Congress general secretary. The state committee has not been able to undertake any political campaigns, district secretary Aravind Chandrashekhar said raising criticism at the camp.

The committee has failed to organise the Youth Congress at the grassroot level, he added.

Criticism was also raised against district president MG Kannan for raising slogans against the district collector during the Youth Congress protest march to the Pathanamthitta collectorate. Kannan had raised slogans against the collector during the protest march on January 16 demanding action against culprits over the unscientific construction of the Ranni bund bridge road.

Kannan raised slogans asking the collector to resign from the post. Youth Congress district vice president G Manoj said during the discussion that the protest should have been against the constituency MLA and the PWD minister and not against the collector.

Criticism was also raised against the working of a Youth Congress state secretary’s quarry. The camp was inaugurated by Shafi.
