Kochi: Ernakulam City Police arrested SFI state secretary PM Arsho, accused in many cases over a murder attempt case. A team led by the city police commissioner arrested him here on Sunday. Later, the court remanded him in judicial custody.

Three months back, the High Court had cancelled his bail in a case related to a murder attempt. PM Arsho was involved in 12 cases after obtaining bail in the murder attempt case. Observing this justice Sunil Thomas issued an order cancelling his bail. The court also asked the police to arrest him immediately. But police didn’t follow this order and argued that Arsho was absconding.

Amidst this, Arsho participated in the SFI state conference held in Malappuram and got elected as state secretary.

Following this, Youth Congress secretary P Shajahan filed a complaint with Ernakulam North Police. Based on this complaint, the Ernakulam City police commissioner and his team arrested him.

Ernakulam North police had registered a case against Arsho for attacking a student named Nizamuddin in 2018. Police slapped charges under sections 308, 355, 323, 324, 506, and 427 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for allegedly attacking the student.
