Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Higher Education Minister R Bindu said the principal is responsible for the impersonation that happened in the Kattakada Christian College union election.

According to the minister, incidents like this are rare and it is misleading to cite the happening to generalise about student elections in the state. She also termed the happening as an “isolated incident”.

“Elections are happening transparently,” she noted. The minister also pointed out that the incident should not be projected to defame students' unions.
